The Stone Soup Parable – Hungry Travellers come to a village carrying nothing but an empty cooking pot. They gather some water from a stream, drop a large stone in their pot and place it over the fire. A curious girl from the village asks what they are doing. The travellers answer that they are making “stone soup”. The girl says you can’t make soup from a stone and runs home to contribute a few carrots. Other villages contribute what they can. Finally, a delicious and nourishing pot of soup is enjoyed by all.
