“Name this Park!” initiative: Begbie Green

Begbie Green is a half-acre community space located in the North Jubilee neighbourhood along Shelbourne Street, near the intersection of Pembroke and Begbie Streets. Last year, the City of Victoria worked with local residents to renew this green space.

The new space includes a central plaza with seating, new pathways and fruit trees and bushes for the community to enjoy.

To celebrate the rejuvenation of the green space, this summer the City of Victoria is working with the surrounding neighbourhoods to “Name this Green!”

Please vote for your favourite before July 24!

From June 11 – June 26, we asked the community to nominate names for this improved green space. A jury made up of representatives from the nearby neighbourhoods reviewed the nominations and selected a shortlist of three potential names:

· Jubilee Green
· North Jubilee Green
· Begbie Green (keep the current name)

We want to hear from you! Let us know which one is your favourite by voting online here.

This survey will be available until July 24th.

The process is run by the City of Victoria.
