WATER PEOPLE

by Ellen Arrand

Back by popular demand – for two shows only!

October 27 & 28  @ 7pm

Fresh off a successful Fringe Festival run, Water People is back by popular demand for two shows!

“Ellen Arrand is a beautifully descriptive writer… Water People is filled to the brim with humanity—a small slice of life of ordinary people, finding pleasure in the simple tasks of daily living in what many would consider difficult circumstances.”    Janis Lacouvee   I Have My Own Life to Live

“Put it at the top of your Fringe list!”  Victoria News

“Four stars out of five… Ellen Arrand… has crafted a wonderfully delicate monologue here that’s as engaging and compelling as it is lovingly layered.”   John Threlfall  Check the Program

When the system fails, Beth – a middle-aged novelist – begins caring for her disabled mother.  It seemed the right thing to do at the time.  But an ill-intentioned social worker, an estranged sibling, a high maintenance cat, and the woman in the mirror – confirming time is not standing still – are now “writing” the story that is defining Beth’s life.  We live in a time when more and more adults are caring for their aging parents at home.  Water People is a heartfelt expression of one woman’s struggle to provide her mother with a life of dignity while trying to keep alive her own dreams.  Ellen Arrand is an award-winning playwright and published novelist (Public Works Private Souls & Hotel Abuncancia).  She has penned two previous productions for Theatre Inconnu:  Trutch Street Women and Bear Me Stiffly Up.”

Performed by Ellen Arrand
