Fernwood Community Association Land Use Committee meeting Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 7 PM to discuss with the developer a proposal to build a 12 story and an 8-story building in Fernwood.

Please share the following information with anyone you think might be interested in attending this open public meeting.

  1. Preliminary Community Meeting concerning 1309 – 1315 Cook Street, 1100 – 1108 Yates Street and 1109 – 1115 Johnson Street.

The meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the following proposed changes to these properties with the proponent.

Currently 1309 and 1315 Cook Street, 1100, 1102 and 1108 Yates Street, and 1109 Johnson Street are zoned C-1 (Limited Commercial District).  1115 Johnson Street is zoned R3-1 (Multiple Dwelling District).

The developer would like to rezone these four lots in order to build three new multi-family residential buildings which will include retail, a daycare and a diverse range of housing alternatives including affordable ownership condominiums, purpose-built rental, and market condominiums.

The proposal is to build a 12 story building fronting Cook and Yates Street, an 8 story building and 6 story building fronting Johnson Street and the existing 5 story building fronting Yates Street to be retained.
