- Official Community Meeting concerning 1309 – 1315 Cook Street, 1100 – 1108 Yates Street and 1109 – 1115 Johnson Street.
Please note that the meeting will be held at #10 – 1120 Yates Street (Victoria Professional Building). The change in venue is to make it easier for people near the development to attend the meeting. The City has mailed 628 notices to people within a 200 metre radius of this proposed development.
The meeting will provide another opportunity to discuss the following proposed changes to these properties with the proponent.
Currently 1309 and 1315 Cook Street, 1100, 1102 and 1108 Yates Street, and 1109 Johnson Street are zoned C-1 (Limited Commercial District). 1115 Johnson Street is zoned R3-1 (Multiple Dwelling District).
The developer would like to rezone these four lots in order to build three new multi-family residential buildings which will include retail, a daycare and a diverse range of housing alternatives including affordable ownership condominiums, purpose-built rental, and market condominiums.
The proposal is to build a 12 story building fronting Cook and Yates Street, an 8 story building and 6 story building fronting Johnson Street. The existing 5 story Victoria Professional Building will be retained.
